Welcome
Welcome to the Friends of the Museum of Army Music, formerly known as the Friends of the Kneller Hall Museum. The Friends supports the work of the curator and staff of this historic collection of musical instruments and artefacts which chart the glorious history of British Army music.
With your support, the Friends can help to increase awareness and appreciation of the museum and help fund the preservation, conservation and expansion of this unique collection. By becoming a Friend you will be able to enhance your own appreciation and understanding of the long heritage and traditions that are very much the pride of our nation. |
A New Home
On 18th January 2016 Defence Minister Mark Lancaster announced that Kneller Hall was one of 12 Ministry of Defence (MoD) sites proposed to be released as part of the MoD’s drive for greater efficiency. This release is now going ahead and the Museum closed to the public at the end of February 2020.
The Museum’s collection of instruments, records and other artefacts is expected to be in storage for 2 years while a new home for the collection is completed.
